Moore Than A Memory

Christopher David Moore II

Christopher David Moore II was born on December 18th, 1997.  He was the first born child to Karen & Chris Moore.  He was the light of their lives. Christopher was such a loving son.  His nickname was “smooshman” because he loved to cuddle.  Chrisopher was always on an adventure, and could find a puddle to jump in, even during a drought.  He loved to get muddy, and always smiling.  Christopher had a compassionate side and his dog was his best friend until he had brothers.  At a young age his palate for food was extraordinary.  He was eating Alaskan King Crab Claws at 11 months old.  Christopher was so happy to learn he would be a Big Brother, and he just adore Tyler.  Two years later both Christopher & Tyler were overjoyed to have another brother, Maddox.  Our family was complete, we were blessed.
Christopher had an unforgettable presence. He was compassionate, loyal, charitable and fiercely competitive. Christopher started riding quads and dirtbikes at 3 years old.  He loved going through puddles.  He started playing baseball at 5 years old.  Christopher had a strong grasp of the game and thrived on the challenge oof winning.  He went on to win the West Nyack Home Run Derby at WNLL.  Where the Christopher Moore 9-Year-Old District Tournament is held to honor Christopher and provide a scholarship to a graduating senior.  He played on travel teams, with friends from all over who he continued his friendships with. In the 7th grade Festa Had only 1 team.  Christopher was selected as the only 7th grader from South to play on the team. At South High School Christopher was on JV and Varsity where he was Captain for both and Golden Glove.  He was a dominant player, but more importantly he enjoyed helping his teammates on and off the field.  He always encouraged everyone to be the best they could be.  Clarkstown South holds a Christopher Moore Game at Clover Stadium, which raises money for a scholarship awarded to a graduating Senior Baseball Player.
Christopher met Shannon in High School and started dating September 20th, 2014.  Shannon was by his side as his companion and caregiver throughout his treatments and doctor visits.  They were planning a future together.
Christopher also continued to ride dirt bikes as much as he could .  He took it seriously at 17, and earned his pro license in a short time.  He competed on the big stage.  He accomplished so much in such a short time.  He traveled all over to different tracks, yet his home was The Walden Motorcross Track.  Where they host The Christopher Moore Pro-Am in April.  Another favorite was Diamondback MX where the District 34 recently retired Christopher’s number 923.  We have attached the Remembrance that District 34 wrote about Christopher and His Friend, Austin
Christopher was courageous and faced fear with his eyes wide open.  Christopher was very talented and loved to work with his hands.  He was a hard and dedicated worker.  It was amazing how Christopher was able to maneuver the heaviest of machines at 23 years old, baffling the more seasoned guys on his job.  Christopher always gave 100% to everything he did.
Our goal is to honor Christopher for the Man he was to each and every one of us.  He was a Son, Brother, Friend, Boyfriend, Teammate and Competitor.  But, most importantly he was ours, and the memories and love we have will keep us going to make sure that Christopher is Moore Than A Memory.
